Our Mission

The Center for Faith and Rare Disease serves the rare disease and special needs communities by creating opportunities to develop, grow and strengthen their faith, support one another in the hope they have and connect them to local churches. We will strengthen the local church through supporting Biblical counseling, sharing best practices in care ministry and curating resources for spiritual growth.

Our Programs

At CFRD, we dedicate ourselves to delivering unparalleled support and resources to those in need and transforming lives with every effort. Join us as we craft a brighter future, blending compassion with excellence to create enduring change.

    • Collaborate with churches to identify needs for Biblical Counseling for patients and families with rare diseases and special conditions

    • Provide funding to partner churches for individuals / families to receive church based Biblical Counseling for 1 year

    • Provide funding to partner churches for individuals who want to be trained to become ACBC certified or complete certificate programs through CCEF

    • Develop content based on best practices: Achieving Excellence in Special Needs Ministry

    • Develop the A Rare Faith™ curriculum specific to training church leaders / lay leaders on the specific needs and opportunities to minister to individuals with rare diseases and conditions

    • Develop resources specific to the Rare Disease and Special Needs communities emphasizing the role of faith and available support resources (books, websites, blogs, channels, articles, church finder)

    • Develop an annual, national conference that educates and equips faith leaders 

    • Sponsor fundraising opportunities that support a network of patients and caregivers getting together, networking and building their faith together

    • Exhibit at National Conferences and identify opportunities for keynote presentations, break-out sessions: Achieving Excellence in Special Needs Ministry, The role of Faith in serving Patients and Caregivers with Rare Diseases and Conditions

    • Develop an annual, national conference that educates industry advocacy teams & other non-profit advocacy organizations

    • Develop resources for theology students / medical researchers / fellows to study and publish the intersection of faith and rare disease patient / caregiver journeys

    • Develop new resources specific to the Rare Disease and Special Needs community emphasizing the role of faith
